Here is a collection of articles and comments on the recent police killings of black youngsters which resonate with me. I may add to it as I come across other articles.
This one strikes me as the best thing I have read on the Ferguson situation:
And another good one by Voddie Baucham, Pastor of Preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Texas:
This article was linked by the son of a Facebook friend, Chaim Dauermann:
In the accompanying Facebook post he describes how as a 12-year-old he was playing outside with a toy rifle and someone called the cops. They showed up, approached cautiously and verified that it was a toy gun, and left again. Never drew their guns. Noting the difference to this situation in Cleveland, Chaim says, “Never before have I as powerfully understood the phrase “white privilege.” Most of the friends I was playing with that day were of color. Black and Latino. I have to wonder if the outcome might have been more sinister had I allowed one of them to play with the gun, instead of keeping it for myself.”
